There is an opinion that the sound of an amplifier built entirely on

germanium transistors has a coloring of the sound, close to the "warm tube" sound. On germanium amplifiers the guitar sounds pleasantly.
This project will allow you to assemble a terminal power amplifier entirely on germanium active elements. The amplifier is well suited to shelf speakers.
The sound of amplifiers on germanium transistors has a peculiar sound, more similar in sound to tube amplifiers, but they have a difference. Amplifiers on germanium transistors have a kind of pleasantly audible coloring of the sound. The sound will probably please pleasantly - soft, tireless.
At the same time, the amplifier has enough power to swing tight speakers with low sensitivity and good dynamics, omnivorous to music from jazz to rock-n-roll.
The only practical disadvantage of germanium transistors is the low permissible crystal temperature. Therefore, in relatively large dimensions, a relatively low power is obtained.
