We originally came across this little 19
th
c. cherub on a buying trip in Paris. Few pieces evoke the classical ethos more than this statuesque piece. This chubby cherub was originally carved in wax in 1868. The face and body detailing is superb! Likewise, the carving of the scroll legs is super crisp. We have now adapted two of these popular pieces for an all-new bracelet. Each cherub holds in his hands a sparkly faceted london blue topaz gemstone in a 3mm size. We hand-cast each cherub in sterling silver in a foundry and then shaped and welded them to fit on a handmade hinged silver bangle that measures 60mm across (outside diameter) by 5mm wide by 2mm thick. A hook clasp with the hinge makes it easy to get on and off. A smokey matte satin finish really makes all that detail show. If desired, we can substitute garnet, peridot, amethyst or citrine for the blue topaz... just send a message with your preference. Be among the first to wear this stunning handmade bracelet.
